GATE OR IES

Hello friends,
People usually says that go for the GATE first and then go for IES because it is going to take time and helping you to make unbiased decision for yourself.
Let me talk about GATE first then IES and then comparison.

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering)

GATE basically happens every year in the month of February and its result is declared in March.
It can be given by final year student or student who taken drop for the opportunities of research as an M-Tech and then ph.d.
Many PSU’s are recruiting through GATE score also.

IES (Indian Engineering Service)

If you are preparing for IES you can get the class-1 job appointed by the president of India . It is the highest job, an engineer get in our country.
I know seats in engineering service are very limited as compare to GATE, but aspirant of GATE are more because of less syllabus. Dedicated aspirant who are preparing for engineering service are less. If you are dedicatedly preparing for engineering services, you will definitely crack engineering services in one or next year.
If you are preparing for engineering services, you are not only preparing for engineering services but you are also preparing for many states engineering services.

Now the Question is What to choose?

I think if you are able to study continuously from day one and dedicated towards the study, also you are in age of 22-24. Just go for the engineering services, because age factor is also in your favor.
But if your age is 25-26 the go for the GATE because after 27 you are not eligible for many PSU’s.

All above suggestions are given by Sagar Dodeja.

Thank you!
