FUEL INJECTOR

Fuel Injector Fuel rails, fuel pumps, throttle body, multipoint, direct. That's right, we're talking about fuel injectors. If you don't know by now, engines run on fuel and air. And there's a bunch of ways to get fuel-air mix into the engine. Sometimes, it's a carburetor, but more often, it's fuel injection.   An engine needs a perfect mix of fuel and oxygen to function efficiently. Fuel injectors are engineered to deliver this mix to the cylinder to create an explosion that produces the most power and least amount of dirty exhaust as possible. This ideal fuel to air ratio is 14.7 to one. That means for every one unit of fuel, 14.7 equivalent units of air at sea level are needed to achieve complete combustion. This is referred to as a perfectly balanced stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. Engines didn't always have fuel injectors though. Before fuel injections, engines needed carburetors. Fuel injection has a number of benefits over carburetors.  ...

CARBURETORS | HOW DO CARBURETORS WORK

CARBURETORS   Carburetors are awesome!   A carburetor or carburettor is a device that mixes air and fuel for internal combustion engines in the proper ratio for combustion                                                           " how do carburetors work?" To understand carburetors, we need to understand air and gas, and to understand gas. I say Now, we need to look at how air and fuel mix to feed fire. When oxygen's combined with a fuel, it begins oxidation. And when that happens rapidly, it produces light and heat, or fire, and we call that combustion. That reaction needs to be fed oxygen to continue growing, or to keep burning' it off.   When there's forest fires an...

GATE is Compulsory from 2019-2020 for Engineers?

GATE is Compulsory from 2019-2020 for Engineers? AICTE is planning to compulsory GATE from 2019-20 as exit exam, and taking suggestions from top university authorities. NO Official notice is announced. but AICTE is thinking and taking suggestion that this will be beneficial or not and taking information. Mixed reactions are coming. some are saying that it will be good, some are saying that it will be bad.               If we qualify GATE we will get the JOB?          If anyone is selected in campus in final or pre-final year and not able to qualify GATE. So, he will able to join the company or not? because he will not get the degree. he will be out in document verification. mixed reactions are getting that some are saying that it is very good , some are saying that it is individual problem of someone why we are generalizing it. It is beneficial for th...

RAPID PROTOTYPING | INTRODUCTION, CONCEPT

RAPID PROTOTYPING Introduction It is a technique used for making metal casting. It is largely used technique from the past decade to decrease the product development time. it is based on the layered manufacturing (LM) concept. The technologies include: 3D printing / additive manufacturing systems CNC machines Injection molding systems Concept in this method first 3D model of the object is draw in the CAD file which is transferred into the system, which is then converted into STL format                             S - STANDARD                             T - TRIANGULARATION                    ...

BRUSHLESS DC MOTOR | INTRODUCTION, WORKING

BRUSHLESS DC MOTOR INTRODUCTION In order to make the operation more reliable, more efficient  and less noisy, the recent trend has been to use brushless dc motors.   They are also lighter compared to brushed motors with the same power output. Brushless DC electric motor also known as electronically commutated motors , or synchronous DC motors , are synchronous motors powered by DC electricity via an inverter or switching power supply which produces an AC electric current to drive each phase of the motor via a closed loop controller. The controller provides pulses of current to the motor windings that control the speed and torque of the motor.   The brushes in conventional dc motors wear out over time and may cause sparking  Thus the brushed dc motor  should never be used for operations that demand long life and reliability  let's see how a brushless DC motor works. Working The rotor of a BLDC motor   is a permanent magnet  the s...
